Expo 2013: Xing

2030 Xing was the first project I did at Pixomondo Shanghai and my first real job coming fresh from university. For the SAIC/GM Pavillion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo we created this 12 movie to demonstrate the car builders perspective about the future of car design. So the whole setting of the movie took place in the futuristic version of Shanghai in the year 2030 and was played on a big 180 degree screen with motion seats.

Our job was to create over 100 shots for the movie, many of them full-CG. We had to design and develop the future version of Shanghai, as well as create and animate all the different forms of transportation such as cars, trains and airplanes. As a Lighting and Shading Artist I was responsible for the look development of various shots as well as modelling and texturing various assets.
